In Dragon Age: Veilguard, the world consists of locations divided into regions:
Although the game world may seem small, each of these unique places is full of unusual details and fascinating finds that can capture the attention of even the most discerning player. During your exploration, you will face many exciting challenges: you will encounter powerful enemies, from minor bandits to dangerous monsters, and each battle will require a strategic approach. You will find both main and side quests that require attentiveness and puzzle-solving skills, sometimes leading to unexpected plot twists.
Gamers' actions and choices can affect the surrounding world, opening new opportunities or creating obstacles. To make your journey more convenient and enjoyable, we offer you to familiarize yourself with the currently available interactive map:
This location plays a key role in Tevinter, as it is the capital of the Tevinter Empire in Thedas, populated by humans, elves, and dwarves. Here you will find a metropolis that serves not only as a center of trade and politics but also as the residence of the mysterious faction of Shadow Dragons, giving it a special atmosphere of mystery.
At the beginning of the prologue, you will first find yourself in Minrathous, where your squad will have to move through the streets of this attacked city. The atmosphere here is tense and full of chaos. You will have to follow the path laid out, overcoming obstacles and facing enemies that threaten not only your squad but also the city's residents.
As you progress in the game, the main part of the forest will become available for exploration. You will be able to thoroughly explore this area, immersing yourself in the atmosphere of the surrounding nature and finding hidden secrets that it holds.
Every corner hides interesting finds and tasks that require attentiveness and ingenuity. Solving puzzles will allow you to receive useful and even valuable rewards. In turn, side quests reveal new aspects of the plot and culture of Thedas.
In addition to battles with regular monsters, you will face several bosses in Arlathan Forest. Among them are the Frenzied Guardian and the Ogre, which need to be defeated in the final part of the location exploration. These bosses have significantly more health and unique powerful attacks that can create serious difficulties. Before approaching each boss, be sure to prepare — heal your heroes, save the game, and check your equipment. Thorough preparation will help you fight effectively and increase your chances of victory in these dangerous encounters.
The main feature of this location is the hidden altars, which not only give it a mystical atmosphere but also become the center of various puzzles. Each altar may require you to solve unique tasks related to its history.
The altars will grant the hero one skill point each. This adds motivation for exploration, as each altar becomes a valuable resource in your adventure. By solving the puzzle of the Evanuris Altar, you have the opportunity to significantly increase the health of the Hand. This important enhancement will not only strengthen your character but also increase their survivability in tough battles and tense situations.
This safe haven serves as a place where you can rest and meet with your companions. Here you will find a music room, and you can also learn the whereabouts of your group members. Special attention should be paid to the meditation hall, known as the Rook's room — here you can place some personal items of the hero, creating a cozy space. Additionally, this place serves for communication with Solas, who is trapped in the location.
Here you will also be able to find rotating statues that are related to the secret puzzles of the music room. Another bonus in this location is the large number of loot chests, which can contain various items. They usually hold small items, gold, or other valuable materials that will help you in your adventures.
This place serves as a link between various locations. Here you will be able to open the Eluvian gates, which will lead you to new regions, expanding your exploration opportunities.
Some of these gates are initially inactive and will become available only after you progress sufficiently in the main storyline. During your first visit, only the gates leading to Treviso and Dock Town will be accessible.
This location is one of the most eventful in the game. Here you will be able to explore a crypt, encounter the Antivan Crows faction, and face many bosses ready to challenge you. You will also find various quests that will help you dive deeper into the story, as well as many merchants offering unique goods.
Don't forget to check the chests, as besides gold and resources, you may find equipment for your heroes, including new weapons and armor. Small chests usually contain materials and valuable items that can be useful for upgrading your gear and completing quests. Each chest opening can be a pleasant surprise and add to your inventory.
You will first visit this place during the main quest «The Smuggled Relic Case», where you will have to interact with the Shadow Dragons. This quest will open up many intriguing opportunities and challenges for you.
During your first visit, you will not be able to freely explore the town and will be forced to focus on the main quests of this area. This restriction will make you closely follow the storyline and complete key tasks before the opportunities to key places in the town open up. Surprisingly, there are as many as 25 chests with useful resources hidden in Dock Town.
