First appearing in Chapter 5 Season 1, medallions return once again in Fortnite (Chapter 6, Season 1). At the very beginning of the season, players could only obtain two medallions: the Wanderer's Medallion and the Night Rose Medallion. With the addition of Godzilla on January 17, a third medallion was introduced. In this guide, we will explain how medallions work in Fortnite and where to find them.
What Medallions Are in Fortnite (Chapter 6, Season 1)
Medallions are buffs that drop from bosses, providing various enhancements. In Chapter 6 Season 1 of Fortnite, the following medallions are available:
- Wanderer's Medallion: Drops from the defeated Shogun X. Grants infinite stamina and invisibility while running.
- Night Rose Medallion: Appears after defeating the Night Rose. Allows weapons to reload automatically.
- Godzilla Medallion: Drops from the eponymous adversary and allows dash recharge.
What You Need to Know About Medallions
- Medallions do not take up space in the inventory as they have a separate slot in the bag, similar to gold.
- To obtain a medallion, you need to defeat the boss guarding it. As you approach them, a boss health bar and the corresponding icon will appear on the mini-map.
- Unlike other NPCs, bosses have minions who will attack you upon encounter. However, you can first explore other places on the map and prepare for the battle, then return to the boss for the medallion.
- Boss minions do not shoot very accurately, much like stormtroopers from Star Wars, so you don't need to worry about them. Prepare good weapons and focus on the boss to get the medallion. Keep in mind that bosses often regenerate shields, making defeating them a serious challenge.
- If you see an orange or gold circle on the map, it means a player in that area has a medallion. You can eliminate this player to take the medallion for yourself.
How to Get All Medallions
In Chapter 6 Season 1 of Fortnite, the bosses from which medallions drop can be found in the following locations.
Night Rose
- Location: Demon's Dojo.
- Feature: In the battle with her, beware of the ghostly Shadow of the Night Rose. The fight is multi-phased, first with the Night Rose, then with her flying oni puppet head. Defeat her to obtain the Night Rose Medallion.
Shogun X
- Location: Appears in a random location on the island. Look for the Oni mask icon on the map.
- Feature: Initially, Shogun X drops random mythic weapons. The final version of the boss appears on the fourth storm circle. Defeat him to receive the Wanderer's Medallion and the Fire Oni Mask.
Godzilla
- Location: Appears randomly after the first Storm circle starts shrinking. Just watch for the Godzilla icon on the map.
- Feature: Keep your distance and shoot at the glowing spikes on its back to deal extra damage. If you manage to deal the most damage, you'll receive the Godzilla Medallion and the Burst Quad Launcher.
