Streaming service Netflix has acquired another new product. Today, the anime series Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft premiered.
The events of the show begin after the plot of the last Tomb Raider trilogy. This time, the brave Lara will go in search of a thief who stole a powerful Chinese artifact from her home. On her journey, she will have to face a strong opponent once again. The show was written by Tasha Huo, known for the mini-series The Witcher: Blood Origin.
All eight episodes are already available on Netflix. So far, the series has not received ratings from viewers and critics, but some publications have already published reviews. For example, the Discussing Film portal called the anime a «saturday morning cartoon», criticizing the average dialogue and shallow characters and giving it a rating of 3 out of 5 points. And the IGN reviewer dubbed the show «mediocre», assigning a rating of 5/10 points.
Recall that recently, the Japanese branch of Warner Bros. shared the first look at the Joker and Harley Quinn in the anime «Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League». And before that, Netflix announced when the animated show based on Dante from Devil May Cry will start.
