Director of the New Superman Film Reveals Superdog Krypto for the First Time

Director James Gunn has shared a new image from the upcoming Superman movie, marking the first time Clark Kent will not be fighting alone on the big screen — he'll be joined by superdog Krypto.
The idea to include Krypto came to Gunn after he adopted a dog named Ozu. Ozu, a former stray, took a long time to adjust to a quiet life at home. This made Gunn wonder how much more difficult life would be if his dog had superpowers. «And thus Krypto came into the script & changed the shape of the story as Ozu was changing my life,» Gunn wrote.
The film is set to premiere on July 11, 2025, with David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan starring in the lead roles.
