Luca Guadagnino to direct new American Psycho adaptation
According to the portal, the film will be directed by Italian director Luca Guadagnino. The latter is known to the general public for the films Call Me by Your Name and The Pretenders. Now he has been entrusted with the adaptation of American Psycho — it is known that the film will not be a remake, but a completely new adaptation of the book. There is no information about the cast or approximate release dates yet.
The original novel American Psycho tells the story of a crazy Manhattan banker named Patrick Bateman, who leads a double life as a rich playboy businessman and a violent maniac. In 2000, Lionsgate released a film adaptation of the acclaimed book. The latter eventually acquired cult status, and the main character played by Christian Bale became the subject of memes.
