The Star Trek: Strange New Worlds series returns with new episodes. Paramount Studio has confirmed that the premiere of the fourth season will take place on July 23.
A total of 10 episodes are planned, they will be released weekly until the end of September. Judging by the recently released teaser, the upcoming season will be darker and more serious than the previous ones. However, the recognizable atmosphere will remain.
The plot of the series is based around the crew of the ship Enterprise under the command of Captain Christopher Pike. The heroes explore the galaxy, meet new races and find out the causes of anomalies. All this often puts the expedition at risk. The danger is posed by aliens, such as humanoid reptiles, and getting into parallel worlds.
Critics rate Star Trek: Strange New Worlds quite highly. For example, the third season received 88% on Rotten Tomatoes. But the audience at the same venue gave the season only 52%. On IMDb, the audience gave mixed ratings — the seventh episode received 6.2 points out of 10, and the sixth — 8.3 points.
Earlier, the screenwriter of another space series dedicated to Mass Effect denied rumors about rewriting the script for the mass audience. Daniel Casey stated that he was no less surprised by this than the rest of the users.
