Insider: Resident Evil 9 hasn't been delayed, the game will be announced soon
Dusk Golem reached out to sources at Capcom and found out how the development of Resident Evil 9 is going. The insider had previously reported that the game might have been delayed, but his new post says those were just rumors.
According to the latest news, Resident Evil 9 will be announced «pretty soon“ and is set to release in 2025 — possibly as early as January. Users speculate that the announcement could come at the PlayStation summer presentation, as the series often appears at Sony events.
Dusk Golem added that the development of Resident Evil 9 began back in 2018, making it the longest-developed installment in the series. Moreover, 2018 was a ”funny period» for Capcom as Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil Village, and Resident Evil 9 were all in development simultaneously.
Resident Evil 9 is also expected to be the most expensive installment. Details are still unknown, but Dusk Golem once wrote that the game would feature an open world.
