Amazon announces Tomb Raider TV series
Amazon has approved the production of a television series based on the famous adventure game series Tomb Raider. The show will be released on the Prime Video streaming service.
Details of the series, including the start date of filming, the year of release, and the cast, are not yet available. It is also unknown who will be the showrunner for the project. Amazon only reported that the script will be written by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, the creator of the series Fleabag, for which she received three Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a BAFTA TV award. Crystal Dynamics, the studio responsible for the Tomb Raider series of games, will take part in the production of the show.
It is worth mentioning that a new mainline installment in the Tomb Raider series is in development.
