The developers of Frostpunk 2, a city-building simulator set in a post-apocalyptic setting, have announced a delay. The game was set to release in July, but after beta testing, the studio decided to take additional time. The new release date is September 20, 2024.
The authors also released a separate note on Steam, detailing the upcoming improvements. The gameplay promises to be deeper, and the interface will be user-friendly and not overloaded.
- Changes in the gameplay, which will make the city-building process deeper and more impressive;
- More flexible personnel management;
- More abilities for direct control, allowing for more dynamic responses to crises;
- A new resource for more strategic construction and better economic stabilization;
- The ability to change the shape of districts after their construction;
- A more thorough and comprehensive approach to dealing with protests;
- Improved user interface, new construction menu, and five additional city centers;
- Improved text readability;
- The appearance of the Zoom Stories mechanic, which will allow you to zoom in the camera and observe the city's inhabitants.
Frostpunk 2 will be released on PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The game will be available in Game Pass.
