Unexpected screenshots from the future sequel were found in Subnautica
The developers from Unknown Worlds found a rather unexpected way to share new materials from Subnautica 2. The other day, players found screenshots of the future sequel in... time capsules of the first game.
Time capsules are a unique way to exchange resources over the network so that players can help each other in the game. However, one of the developers decided to use them as a source of images from the new game. A Redditor with the nickname nomorefunnynumber came across such an «Easter egg» and shared his find with the community. In the picture, you can see a completely new creature.
Other players also found images and demonstrated them on the game's subreddit, but for some unknown reason they were deleted. However, the community moderators have already confirmed that the screenshot was definitely not taken from mods for the game.
Recall that Subnautica 2 has not yet received an exact release date, but the publisher plans to release the game this year. The project was announced back in 2022.
