Blizzard is working on a new first-person RPG shooter. Gamers are hoping it's StarCraft
The information appeared in the profile of Overwatch 2 product manager Chris McCabe. According to it, he recently joined a certain new Blizzard project, which is being developed for PC and consoles. Reddit suggested that the studio could be working on a new StarCraft.
Of course, it could be a completely new franchise. However, back in 2023, at Tokyo Game Show 2023, Xbox head Sarah Bond hinted that StarCraft could be «brought back to life» due to the great interest from fans. In addition, many fans of the game have long been asking Blizzard to make a full-fledged RPG based on the strategy series.
Recall that the last project based on the franchise was StarCraft: Remastered, which was released in 2017.
Earlier, the free strategy Stormgate, developed by the creators of Warcraft 3 and StarCraft 2, was released on Steam.
