Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone transformed with path tracing
NVIDIA marketer Jacob Freeman showed what Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone from 2003 looks like with path tracing. This effect was achieved with the updated Unreal Engine 1 RTX Remix renderer.
A modder with the nickname mmdanggg2 released a new version of the tool on GitHub, adding support for the Philosopher's Stone. The lighting in the game was completely redone, but the graphics have remained the same for now. In addition, there is still work to do with light sources — at the time of development, they had to be artificially placed, which is why ray tracing will not work correctly.
Below is a frame from the game without using a rerender:

Recall that the Half-Life 2 remaster is currently being developed, which also uses NVIDIA technologies.
