Fan-made Half-Life 3 on Unreal Engine 5 gets Steam page and system requirements
The developers of Project Borealis are really preparing to implement their long-term project. «Fan-made Half-Life 3» has acquired a Steam page and even received minimum and recommended system requirements.
So far, we are only talking about the prologue, which will send players to snowy Ravenholm. The developers promise that fans will discover completely new opponents and secrets hidden inside the familiar city. The chapter itself serves as a kind of «bridge» between Half-Life 2: Episode Two and the story from the fan sequel. The protagonist will again be Gordon Freeman in the unchanged HEV suit.
Project Borealis: Prologue runs on Unreal Engine 5 instead of Source. According to the authors of the project, the game received completely new visual effects and retained the immersion effect that was in the original series. At the same time, they published the system requirements.
You can add Project Borealis: Prologue to your wishlist on the Steam page. The release will take place this fall.
Recall that the fan sequel to Half-Life 2 has been in development since 2017. The plot is based on the drafts of Valve screenwriter Marc Laidlaw. According to them, Gordon Freeman and Alyx were supposed to explore the Arctic in search of the Borey ship with teleportation technology on board.
Recall that a rare beta version of Half-Life recently became publicly available.
