S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has finally launched, and with it, the first wave of mods has arrived. While many players are currently frustrated with the game's poor optimization, a community effort seems to have found a solution.

The Stalker Optimizer mod has quickly become the most popular download on Nexus Mods. According to its creator, the mod optimizes shader compilation and asset streaming, significantly reducing stuttering during gameplay.

User feedback suggests the mod has made a noticeable difference—even for players using high-end GPUs like the RTX 4090. However, some have reported an unintended side effect: gravitational anomalies and bloodsuckers becoming completely invisible after installation.

Here's what players are saying:

«Had to come back and leave a comment and says this makes the game run butter smooth wtf LMFAO THANK YOU.» — AndrewPwner.

«Just wanted to say version 2 of this finally removed my near constant micro stuttering on my 4090. Genuinely such an enjoyable experience now. Thank you!» — eLemonnader.

«Works gave me an extra 10 fps and my stuttering went away and improved my latency.» — KoldxIce.

The mod is available for download here.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 was released on November 20. The game has already been tested on older GPUs like the GTX 1060.
