The new NVIDIA App, which recently exited beta testing, is reportedly affecting game performance according to users. On average, frame rates can drop by 15%.
NVIDIA describes the app as "an essential tool for gamers and content creators, allowing them to update drivers, optimize games, and capture favorite moments". It's meant to be a replacement for GeForce Experience.
However, based on reviews, it seems the NVIDIA App still requires some improvements.
Here are some FPS comparisons in games with and without the NVIDIA App:
- Black Myth: Wukong — 76 FPS (NVIDIA App) vs. 82 FPS (without the app);
- Returnal — 132 FPS (NVIDIA App) vs. 150 FPS (without the app);
- Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered — 196 FPS (NVIDIA App) vs. 214 FPS (without the app);
- Borderlands 3 — 157 FPS (NVIDIA App) vs. 175 FPS (without the app).
