Top Films of 2024 Ranked by 177 Critics

IndieWire has conducted a large-scale poll to determine the best films of 2024, with 177 critics and journalists participating in the vote.
This year’s top spot went to “Anora”, which was released digitally today. Sean Baker’s film appeared on 89 of the 177 lists, with 18 critics placing it in first place. “Anora” also earned the award for Best Screenplay.
Close behind “Anora” was “The Brutalist”. Brady Corbet’s film also took first place 18 times but was featured in only 73 lists. Nevertheless, Corbet was recognized as the Best Director.
