«We Are Not a Retro Company» — SEGA Has No Plans for Mini Versions of Saturn and Dreamcast

Despite some fans' hopes, SEGA has decided against releasing mini versions of the Saturn and Dreamcast consoles. This was confirmed by Shuji Utsumi, CEO of SEGA America and Europe, during a recent interview.
We are not a retro company. We really appreciate our legacy, we value it, but at the same time, we want to deliver something new — otherwise we’ll become history. That’s not what we’re aiming for.
As for games, SEGA intends to continue reviving iconic titles from the '80s and '90s. These include series like Crazy Taxi, Jet Set Radio, Shinobi, Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, and Virtua Fighter.
As a reminder, SEGA released the Sega Mega Drive Mini in 2019, a gaming console that runs games via a built-in emulator.
