Breakthrough AI Gadget Omi Launched at CES 2025
At the annual CES 2025 exhibition, a groundbreaking wearable device named Omi was unveiled, promising to revolutionize everyday interactions with artificial intelligence. This gadget not only processes user conversations, extracting key information and creating summaries, but also recognizes user intents through brainwave analysis. It can detect when it is being addressed, even without a spoken word.
During the presentation, project creator Nik Shevchenko demonstrated the device’s capabilities by mentally asking a question and receiving an answer via the companion smartphone app. The gadget analyzes brainwaves with a single electrode, making it compact and convenient to use. In the future, the device is expected to handle more complex tasks, such as saving a user’s thoughts.
Omi is worn on a lanyard or attached to the temple, remaining active at all times. It helps process daily tasks, such as preparing meeting notes, providing answers, and offering recommendations. Notably, the device requires no wake words — it is always ready to operate. Its battery life lasts for three days.
Developers have already launched an app store for Omi, offering 250 applications. The device is compatible with popular external services, and its operating system is open-source, enhancing integration possibilities. For data processing, it utilizes models from OpenAI and Meta, ensuring high speed and accuracy.
Currently, Omi is used by 5,000 testers who report its usefulness in creating notes and performing various tasks. The device will hit the market in the second quarter of 2025 at a price of $89.
