«This Is Incredible»: Player Discovers Rare Torture Scene Featuring Astarion in Baldur's Gate 3

Even a year and a half after its release, Baldur's Gate 3 continues to surprise its fans. Yesterday, a Redditor Soft_Stage_446 revealed a rare scene in Act 3 where Astarion gets captured by his fellow vampires.

To trigger this scene, players must allow a vampire attack on their main camp. If Astarion is lost in the fight (or willingly handed over to the enemy), the blonde companion will be taken to Cazador’s castle. What follows is a detailed torture chamber sequence with Astarion at its center.

Many players had never seen this scene because the fight against the vampires is relatively easy, making it difficult to let Astarion fall into enemy hands. The discovery has sparked speculation within the community about other hidden content in the game.

Wow! Great find OP! Larian continues to surprise (in good ways).

Now I know this game was in development for years, but how the shit did they find time to put all of this niche content in? There's been games that spent twice as long in development with not even a tenth of the stuff this has. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if there's one specific tree in act 2 that if you walk past it with halsin at the head of the group at a specific angle at a specific point of the story it turns into a corrupted Ent.

Great post OP. This is super cool. Gonna remember this when I start my next playthrough after the next patch.

Larian Studios plans to release another major update for Baldur's Gate 3 this year, adding new subclasses, a photo mode, and crossplay. Simultaneously, the studio is working on a new game.
