Rumor: Alan Wake 2 PC Version Won't Be Released on Steam

The PC version of Alan Wake 2 may remain an Epic Games Store exclusive. This response allegedly came from the company's CEO Tim Sweeney, who financed the development of the horror game from Remedy.

One of the Reddit users shared a screenshot of a letter that he sent to the head of Epic Games. In it, the gamer asked to tell about the release date of Alan Wake 2 on Steam, stating that he is a big fan of the game, but considers the platform itself inconvenient and is waiting for the project to be released on a competing platform. To his surprise, Tim Sweeney still responded, stating that «it’s not coming to Steam».

Although there are no guarantees of the authenticity of the letter, Redditors confirmed that sometimes the boss of Epic Games communicates with players by email or on social networks. In addition, the author of the post shared another letter from Tim Sweeney, which he received in 2019.

Let's recall that Alan Wake 2 was released on October 27, 2023 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC (Epic Games Store). During the support period, the game received a New Game + mode with an additional ending and two DLCs — Night Springs and The Lake House.
