Alien Star Sigourney Weaver Reveals Why She Joined The Mandalorian & Grogu Cast

Next year, the full-length film The Mandalorian & Grogu, another film in the Star Wars universe, will premiere. Alien and Avatar star Sigourney Weaver revealed why she decided to join the franchise.
In an interview with GamesRadar+, the actress admitted that she did not plan to become part of a galaxy far, far away, but Grogu changed everything. Sigourney Weaver liked "baby Yoda" so much that she agreed to star in the film about Din Djarin and his apprentice. By the way, the actress also turned out to be a big fan of director Jon Favreau.
I get to have scenes with a little Grogu which is probably why I did the movie. And he's a little badass too. It's going to be wonderful for people to see what Grogu is up to now because he's grown up a little bit and is capable of much more than maybe we think just watching the series.
It's not yet clear what role the Alien star will play in the upcoming film. According to rumors, the actress was seen on set in the uniform of a New Republic colonel. The actress herself claims that she plays a "wonderful character" in a leadership position that will send Pedro Pascal's character on a mission in the Outer Rim.
The premiere of The Mandalorian & Grogu will take place in 2026.
The son of Jabba the Hutt, the crime boss of Tatooine, will also appear in the film. Variety has already reported which actor will play him.
