The first closed playtest for the next Battlefield is kicking off on March 7th, exclusively on PC. This info comes from industry insider Tom Henderson, who shared the details earlier today.
According to Henderson, the playtest will be conducted through the Battlefield Labs service, which was unveiled back in February. Participants will get a two-hour hands-on experience with some of the mechanics slated for the upcoming shooter. Expect a strict NDA, meaning no streaming, gameplay recording, or screenshots will be allowed. Console players will have to sit this one out, as the initial test is PC-only.
The new Battlefield is currently without a title or release date. Development is a collaborative effort across four studios: DICE, Motive, Criterion, and Ripple Effect. The game is planned for release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
