Modder Improves Graphics in Half Life 2 RTX and Compares Result with Remaster and Original

The demo of the unofficial remaster of Half-Life 2 RTX has drawn a lot of criticism from fans, including due to its graphics. Modder 2kliksphilip tried to fix the visual issues by sharing the result.

He published a video with an improved version of the Half-Life 2 RTX demo on his YouTube channel. He changed several graphics parameters — in particular, volumetric visual effects like fog and smoke, light reflections and glow — thanks to which the picture became closer to the original on the Source engine. At the end of the video, he compared all three versions of the game, showing how the demo was transformed through simple settings.

The Half Life 2 RTX demo itself recently became available on Steam to owners of the original game, receiving "mixed" reviews and a 53% rating. We also tried the fan remaster and shared our impressions in the review. Let us remind you that at the release the project will be available for free to everyone who has purchased Half Life 2.
