PS4 Emulator Gets FSR and Improved Optimization

The shadPS4 team has released a major update for the emulator, bringing it to version 0.7 and making PlayStation 4 games more accessible and enjoyable on PC. The update introduces cutting-edge graphics enhancements and optimizations tailored for aging hardware.
Update 0.7 adds support for HDR and AMD FSR 1.0, which not only improves image clarity in titles like Bloodborne but also boosts FPS on low-end PCs. For players who prefer custom controls, the update includes expanded keyboard and mouse remapping options, along with improved gyroscope and accelerometer support — making gamepad input more precise and responsive.
shadPS4 is now more accommodating to older processors thanks to code optimizations. Fixes to the shader recompiler and memory management — including resolving the "Attempted to track non-GPU memory" error — have reduced system load. Special attention has been given to Unity-based games, which now launch more consistently, though they’re still far from perfect.
Despite the overall improvements, only a few titles, such as the exclusive Bloodborne, deliver acceptable performance. Popular games like The Last Guardian and Until Dawn still suffer from bugs, as confirmed by recent test footage. The developers acknowledge that full PS4 emulation is a long road, but they promise to expand the list of playable titles in future updates.
Update 0.7 is a significant step toward PS4 library compatibility, but the team emphasizes that the emulator is intended for experimentation rather than everyday gaming. The full changelog and test build are available on the project’s GitHub. Meanwhile, Bloodborne fans are already testing the game on PC and sharing their impressions online.
