Remedy has announced that Control 2 will be an RPG-action game. The original game will receive a free update

Remedy Entertainment has revealed several new details about their games, including the upcoming Control 2, which is being developed for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The developers have stated that the project will belong to the RPG-action genre (the first part was an action-adventure game).

The company also promised to release a free update for the original Control in early 2025, which will unlock «some previously released content». Additionally, on February 12, 2025, the game will be ported to Mac.

Moreover, Remedy Entertainment announced that sales of Alan Wake 2, which was released in October 2023 on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, have already surpassed 1.8 million copies.

This information was published as part of the Capital Markets Day, a special event where the management shared their company's development strategy and financial growth.
