The upcoming update for Windows 11 may slow down SSDs by up to 45%
An update 24H2 is being prepared for Windows 11, which will enable BitLocker encryption by default. Many system users are already dissatisfied because this feature can slow down the SSD speed by up to 45%.
The encryption will be enabled even on the home version of Windows 11 and will affect all connected drives. BitLocker will also automatically turn on when installing the operating system.
You can disable BitLocker as follows: Settings > Privacy and security > Device encryption.
BitLocker is a security system that encrypts volumes and keeps files away from prying eyes. The problem is that a user can accidentally lock the data, after which they will have to recover access.
Previously, another update was released for Windows 11, adding advertisements. Fortunately, it can be disabled.
