NVIDIA to unveil RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 with GDDR7 on March 13

NVIDIA is ready to shake up the mid-range graphics card market with the highly anticipated launch of the GeForce RTX 5060 series on March 13. According to insider reports, the lineup will include three models: the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB, and the base RTX 5060 8 GB — each offering a significant performance boost thanks to architectural advancements.

Both versions of the RTX 5060 Ti will feature the GB206 GPU with a class-leading 4608 CUDA cores — 6% more than the RTX 4060 Ti. The base RTX 5060 will offer an even more substantial upgrade, packing 3840 cores versus the 3072 found in its predecessor — a 25% increase. A key improvement is the switch to GDDR7 memory running at 28 Gbps, which increases bandwidth to 448 GB/s — 55% higher than the previous generation with GDDR6.

Despite the performance gains, power consumption remains balanced: the RTX 5060 Ti will require up to 180W (15W more than the RTX 4060 Ti), while the RTX 5060 will draw 150W. Insiders suggest that NVIDIA will streamline production by using identical PCBs for the 8 GB variants, allowing board partners to quickly roll out custom cooling solutions and factory overclocked models.

The March 13 presentation is just the beginning — the new cards are expected to hit the market in April. Industry experts predict that the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB will target the sub-$300 segment (around 26,000 RUB), offering uncompromised 1440p gaming. The base RTX 5060, meanwhile, could become the new go-to option for Full HD platforms. This significant upgrade in the mid-range segment underscores NVIDIA’s ambition to solidify its position amid growing competition. The final piece of the puzzle will be the official pricing — a key factor in determining whether these new cards can replicate the success of the legendary GTX 1060.
