Nintendo announced the detective game Emio — the first new installment of the Famicom Detective Club in 35 years
A full announcement of the game under the code name Emio took place on the Nintendo YouTube channel. As it turned out, it is not a horror game from Bloober Team, but the third part of the Famicom Detective Club series of detective novels.
Emio — The Smiling Man: Famicom Detective Club will be the first new game in the series in the last 35 years. According to the plot, the protagonist investigates the murder of a student who had a paper bag with a creepy smiling face on his head. The mysterious case turns out to be connected to a series of unsolved murders from 18 years ago. There is an urban legend that they were committed by a killer named Emio, whose calling card is the eternal smile on the victims' faces.
Players will take on the role of a private detective's assistant and must get to the truth by talking to witnesses and examining evidence. The developers have also added separate episodes with a playable Ayumi Tachibana from previous parts.
The release will take place on August 29 on Nintendo Switch. The game will cost $50.
