Fans Release «Attack on Titan: Requiem» Anime Offering a Different Ending After Three Years of Work

Animation studio Eclypse has unveiled Attack on Titan: Requiem, an adaptation of a fan-made manga created as an alternative to the original ending of the series. Dissatisfied with the canonical conclusion, fans reimagined the finale and brought it to life in animated form.

The 15-minute episode took three years to produce. It re-examines the relationships between the main characters, the source of the Titans' power, and Eren Yeager's desire for freedom. The Requiem manga tells a darker version of the story, where Eren fully realizes his plan to activate the Rumbling.

Eclypse plans to release an extended version of the episode, complete with revamped opening and ending sequences and Japanese voice acting. There is even a possibility the studio may continue the story in the future.

Previously, the animators announced they were working on an adaptation of the "Black Swordsman" arc from the Berserk manga. However, the project is currently on hold due to legal issues.
