Star Wars: The Acolyte canceled after first season
August 20, 2024, 11:32 AM
Lucasfilm has canceled the series The Acolyte — a month after the finale of the first season. This was reported by Deadline.
The news is hardly surprising. The Acolyte received a lot of bad reviews, scoring only 18% on Rotten Tomatoes and 4.1 on IMDb. Ratings were also disappointing. The first episode became the main series premiere on Disney+ this year, but the finale showed the weakest performance among other final episodes of Star Wars shows.
Earlier, showrunner Leslye Headland mentioned that she was ready to shoot a second season of The Acolyte. The final episode included several hints at continuation, such as the appearance of a powerful Sith Darth Plagueis.
