Mortal Kombat (2011) Review

Mortal Kombat — the legendary game that has won the hearts of players around the world has appeared before us in a new guise. No one has ever seen Mortal Kombat like this. All other fighting games take a back seat compared to Mortal Kombat 9 (2011).
Storyline
Yes, yes. The game has a full-fledged storyline, and it's quite interesting. In other similar games, the plot consists only of defeating all opponents with a single fighter, facing the final boss, and watching the ending scene, but here it's different. Let's talk a little about the story itself. From the very beginning of the game, we see a battlefield, and it immediately becomes clear that the good guys have lost to the bad ones. One of the main characters, Raiden, just a second before Shao Kahn crushes his head with a hammer, sends a message to his past self. This message reaches our hero right before the start of the deadly tournament, so familiar events begin to unfold differently. But let's not forget that Mortal Kombat is primarily a fighting game, so the battles are at the forefront.
Gameplay
Players have never seen such chaos. The childhood game has evolved into something more grandiose. The fights have become tens, no, even hundreds of times more intense and beautiful. New combos, various techniques, grabs, and blocks. This spectacle captivates for an indefinite period. And the level of fatalities has reached new heights! It's simply indescribable. They have become much bloodier, more spectacular, and diverse. Now we can slightly tear the opponent into two parts, with all his internal organs falling out, and the process of the fatality will be accompanied by the heart-wrenching screams and moans of enemies, as well as the crunching of their bones. Want to dip an enemy's head into molten lava, cut him into a million pieces, rip out his heart?! Go ahead, and there are plenty of such execution options, some even too bloody to watch calmly. Besides the standard fatalities, the game also has secret ones that we unlock during gameplay. The dynamics of the fight are striking, with the crunch of bones, enemy blood splattering across the arena, and jaw-dropping techniques — all of this makes a very vivid impression.
Characters
As always, there are many playable characters. In addition to the familiar fighters, new heroes have been added to the game, such as Kratos, Freddy Krueger, and others. Each character has unique moves. In terms of characters, the game is top-notch. All the fighter models are well-designed and detailed. Now, during battles, fighters can have their faces smashed, fists bloodied, and so on.
Sound
The sound in the game is excellent. The sounds of punches, the crunch of bones, the screams of enemies. Also, don't forget about the high-quality voice acting of the game cutscenes, which is also very good. In this regard, the game deserves a solid five out of five.
Graphics
The graphics in the game are something else. Everything is so beautiful, so realistic, with picturesque arenas and a dynamic background where something is always happening. The graphics in the game are worthy of its time.
***
Rather than talking a lot about the game, it's better to play it once. But this part of the game is undoubtedly the best. The game has finally been revived. Glory to the developers!
