Street Fighter X Tekken Review

There are quite a few fighting games, and each of these games has its own fighters, arenas, and moves. The only thing that unites all these games is the fights. Over the past few years, fighting games have made significant progress. Flat images have gained volume, new, more powerful strikes and moves have appeared, and gradually, storylines are being written for fighting games. Of course, no such storyline can boast relevance or excellent execution, but it's still more interesting to play when there is at least some goal.

Surely, many players have dreamed of seeing their favorite characters from different fighting games clash in one game. And this opportunity is given to us by the game Street Fighter X Tekken. The title of this game speaks for itself. It immediately becomes clear that this is a fighting game that combines two games: Street Fighter and Tekken.

In essence, the game still resembles Street Fighter more than Tekken. You could even say it's just a new part of "Street Fighter" with characters from Tekken. Probably, characters from the other game are the main feature of this game.

The developers even took the trouble to come up with a story, but it's a bit strange. According to the plot, all events revolve around a UFO that landed in Antarctica. So the storyline here is barely noticeable.

The fighting mechanics have also been embellished, with new moves, combos, and so on introduced. The sounds of punches, enemy cries, and others do not bring anything new. A classic set of sounds for a fighting game. But the team battles are something new. Specifically team battles, as in such fights, we can collectively perform strikes that would be impossible alone. But to make a deadly combo or deliver a series of powerful blows to the enemy, you need to learn a whole range of button combinations. Still, in terms of fights, the game deserves a five.

Let's talk a little about special effects. In the game, special effects are designed to make strikes more spectacular. Flashes, fireworks, flames—all this is a somewhat unorthodox approach to a fighting game, but it only adds to the spectacle.

***

As a result, we see a good fighting game with familiar fighters, new fighting mechanics, new effects, combos, and a storyline. Overall, the game turned out to be decent, but it still doesn't deserve more than a four.
