Barotrauma Cheats: Console Commands and Underwater Tricks
Whether you're just starting your journey or are an experienced submariner looking for new thrills, console commands can help you get settled or conduct experiments through the built-in console. In this guide, we've gathered cheats for Barotrauma that will help players survive, obtain new items, including any weapons and armor, and manage the team if you're the leader in multiplayer mode.
Barotrauma includes cheats that simplify gameplay or help in difficult situations. There are 2 types of commands:
- Console commands — assist in management. This includes visual settings, team management, and chat;
- Cheats — provide advantages and disable the achievement earning in the current session. For example, character or submarine immortality, instant healing, or sabotage.
To open the console, press F3. Enter the necessary words and return to the game. There are many commands, so we've only collected the most interesting and useful ones.
Console Commands in Barotrauma Simplifying the Game
- help — displays all available commands with descriptions;
- mainmenu or menu — closes the session and sends you to the main menu;
- kick [player name] — kicks a player from the server;
- ban [player name] — kicks a player from the server and bans them;
- itemlist — shows a list of creatable items;
- pause — toggles pause mode (works only in single-player);
- botcount [number] — adds bots (works only in multiplayer);
- wikiimage_character — saves a screenshot of the character without a background. Saved in the game folder named wikiimage;
- wikiimage_sub — saves an image of the submarine without a background. Each new screenshot replaces the previous image;
- fpscounter — turns on the frames per second counter;
- showperf — turns on performance information;
- killdisconnectedtimer [number of seconds] — set the time after which disconnected players' characters will be automatically killed;
- togglekarma — turns the karma system on or off.
Expanding Player Permissions
If you have a large team and actively use console commands, you can distribute some of your duties by granting other players the necessary permissions.
- ManageRound — allows players to start and end a round;
- SelectSub — all players can change the submarine;
- ConsoleCommands — players can use console commands (many require separate permission);
- KarmaImmunity — protects players from the consequences of karma;
- SellInventoryItems — players can trade items from their pockets at the station;
- SellSubItems — everyone can sell items from the submarine;
- ManageHires — allows players to hire or fire NPCs;
- All — grants players all the administrator capabilities.
Cheats in Barotrauma That Disable Achievements but Offer Significant Advantages
To enable the ability to enter these commands, you must first enter enablecheats without quotes.
- explosion — creates a small explosion at the cursor;
- disablecrewai or enablecrewai — disables or enables AI (for all bots in the team);
- enableenemyai or disableenemyai — enables or disables AI (for monsters);
- godmode — invincibility for the character;
- godmode_mainsub — makes the submarine invincible;
- fixitems — repairs all items and refuels them;
- heal — fully restores health;
- revive [player name] — revives the specified character. If no name is given, the effect applies to the controlled character;
- giveexperience [amount] — adds experience to the character;
- teleport — teleports the character to the location indicated by the cursor;
- teleportsub [start/end/cursor] — teleports the submarine to the start/end of the level or to the cursor;
- fixwalls — repairs all the submarine's walls;
- spawnitem [item name] cursor or inventory — creates an item at the cursor or in the inventory. You can enter the name in Russian;
- power — fully charges the reactor;
- freecam — free camera. To return control, select a character from the list in the upper left corner;
- los — enables or disables line of sight mode;
- lights — turns additional lighting on or off;
- fire — activates fire mode. Close the console and click LMB at the desired location.
