The game takes place in the picturesque Bavarian village of Wolpertshofen, full of dark secrets, unexplained events and social tensions, in 1866. A detective comes to investigate a mysterious crime. The user's decisions affect the plot, the world and the inhabitants of the settlement — there are a total of 11 endings in the game. Skill leveling, item crafting, stealth mechanics and fist fights are available.
