Ace Combat X: Skies of Deception — The Federal Republic of Aurelia is a peaceful nation located at the southernmost tip of the Osean continent. With a mild climate and abundant natural resources, Aurelia has avoided war and conflict for many decades.

However, in 2020, the northeastern neighboring state, the Democratic Republic of Lizat, under the rule of General Diego Gaspar Navarro, invaded Aurelia under the pretext of retaliation, declaring that it was a response to Aurelia's alleged support for enemies of the Navarro regime during civil war — what, according to Aurelia herself, was only humanitarian aid to the distressed citizens of Lizat. Aurelia was not ready for the invasion and in ten days almost everything was captured, and an important role in this was played by Lizat’s use of a super-powerful weapon — the Gleipnir air fortress.
