Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain — Before the reign of Lord Khaine, Nosgoth was not a welcoming world for vampires. The pillars of this world were the Columns of Nosgoth, on which the Balance was maintained, giving life to the world of Nosgoth and all the creatures inhabiting it. For many centuries, the Columns proudly rose upward, protected from all corruption and evil by the mystical Circle of Nine, a group of wizards called by higher powers to serve the Columns and Nosgoth. Each wizard was associated with the Pillar, of which he was the Guardian, as well as with other Guardians.
