Burnout Paradise is an arcade racing game made in three-dimensional graphics. The action takes place in the fictional city of Paradise City, which is divided into several districts (Downtown Paradise, White Mountain, Silver Lake, Harbor Town and Palm Bay Heights) and in which freedom of movement is provided.
There are race venues in the city, which are located at intersections. Winning a certain number of races allows you to get new rights, and thus is the basis for progressing through the game. The city is full of various jumps with which you can perform jumps, rolls and corkscrews. In the city you can find and knock down barriers and billboards, as well as find and perform high jumps on special springboards. In the city you can also find various establishments — landfills, parking lots, car services, paint shops and gas stations. In addition, you can parallel park in the city, as well as set time and accident records on each street.
