The game takes place in an alternative dystopian America in the 2030s. Players take on the role of Pax, a former prisoner and exile with the unique ability to manipulate words that can alter reality.

The main goal of the game is to deliver a mysterious cargo through a divided country full of tyrannical authorities and hostile factions. Along the way, players will meet various characters, each with their own motivations and stories.
