Of course, the GTA series is a benchmark in its genre. For many, this is their first experience of an open world, and indeed, their first gaming experience. For most people of the modern generation, their acquaintance with the series began with the fifth part. For everyone else, this was a highly anticipated and promising release.
Gameplay, the game has reached a new level. Here we have access to not just three characters, but three different characters. Small, but spacious not so much in terms of the game, but rather in terms of role-playing. A guy from the street, a psychopath and a dude. Perhaps, during a quick passage, the difference will not be particularly noticeable, which may be vague, but still a minus. On the other hand, with a more careful game, you can play differently for each of the heroes. Missions have become more diverse. The scale is not to say that it is much larger. In the same San Andreas, the size of the map felt somehow more serious. Perhaps due to the initially closed areas. But the idea of purchasing real estate has gone far ahead. Plus, it became possible to passively increase funds through an online exchange.
What the game clearly lacks, in my opinion, is fun. Remember the reference Vice City and San Andreas. There, hands themselves reached out to drive in a cheat code and arrange a local apocalypse for all 6 stars. Of course, this is also the case here. But the soul somehow doesn’t require this. Either the series has matured along with gamers, or the industry doesn’t require it. The reasons are difficult to grasp.
But in general, this is a good, albeit short, again in my opinion, story, a wonderful picture even after a while and still the same, bottom line, old GTA. For me, slightly overrated, but nevertheless a popular and beloved representative of the famous series.
