Resident Evil (1996) — action-horror with a third-person view and puzzle elements. July 24, 1998. Monstrous murders began to occur in the vicinity of Raccoon City. Police reports indicated that the attacks were carried out in large groups and that the victims appeared to have been eaten. The police were unable to find the killers, and then a special S.T.A.R.S. squad was brought into the case, divided into teams “Alpha” and “Bravo”.
First, the Bravo team is sent to investigate, with which they soon lose contact. After this, the Alpha team is sent to search for them. While flying over an area where contact with Team Bravo was lost, Team Alpha fighters notice a column of smoke emanating from the ground and decide to land. After disembarking, the squad members carefully inspect the area. It turns out that the smoke was coming from the Bravo team’s helicopter, but they are unable to find the team members themselves, which is also strange, their untouched equipment is in the helicopter. Shooting back from the flock, the group tries to evacuate, but helicopter pilot Brad Vickers, hearing the shots, loses his composure and flies away, abandoning the team. The Alphas, having no other choice, flee for their lives, heading to a nearby mansion.

The first part of the Resident is an immortal classic and one of the progenitors of the horror genre.
Now, of course, this game looks extremely ugly, inconvenient, etc., but in 1996 it was a real standard.
Resident Evil was originally intended to be like Doom, but with puzzles, but then Capcom looked at Alone in the Dark and decided to make a game with a fixed camera. This decision turned out to be fatal, and thanks to it there was a breakthrough in the industry, in particular in horror.
After almost 30 years, it’s impossible to play this because of terrible controls, unpleasant, albeit atmospheric graphics, ancient sound, etc. As a human being, you can play this game thanks to the official remake-remaster, which was created back in 2002, but now the review is not about it, so okay.

Сейчас конечно эта игра смотрится крайне некрасивой, неудобной и т.д, но в 1996 году это был самый настоящий эталон.
Изначально Resident Evil задумывался как Doom, но с загадками, но потом Capcom посмотрела на Alone in the Dark и решила сделать игру с фиксированной камерой. Это решение оказалась роковым, и благодаря ему случился прорыв в индустрии, в частности — в хоррорах.
Спустя почти 30 лет играть в такое невозможно, из-за ужасного управления, неприятной, хоть и атмосферной графики, древнего саунда и т.д. По-человечески в эту игру можно поиграть благодаря официальному ремейк-ремастеру, который был создан ещё в 2002 году, но сейчас обзор не про него, так что ладно.

I played Resident 1 on PS 1 for the first time in 2006 when I was 13 years old. This game brought me both joy and sorrow at the same time! The joy is that I felt immersive as I wandered through the luxurious rooms of the mansion and beat the game on all difficulties, and the sorrow is that I was afraid of everything in this game: Especially the falling ceiling that crushed to death a giant snake that even a grenade launcher and a magnum can barely handle it! And the main fear in the game is death! Which is why I had nightmares, and when I turned 17, I stopped being afraid of playing Resident! There were many friends in their youth who were interested in living in this mansion when it was cleared of biological weapons created by the Umbrella corporation!

Радость в том, что я ощущал эффект присутствия, когда я бродил по роскошным комнатам особняка и прошел игру на всех сложностях, а горе в том, что я всего боялся в этой игре: Особенно опускающийся потолок, который раздавливал насмерть и гигантскую змею, которую даже гранатомёт и магнум едва осилит! А главный страх в игре это смерть! Из за чего мне кошмары снились, а когда мне исполнилось 17 лет, я перестал бояться играть в резидент! Появилось много друзей в юности, которые были заинтересованы пожить в этом особняке, когда он будет зачищен от биологического оружия, созданного корпорацией Амбрелла!
