The canceled early version of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. The project was frozen on December 9, 2011, and later canceled after the dissolution of GSC Game World. The main character was once again the Marked One, who was expelled from the Institute of Chernobyl Anomalous Zone. One of the villains would have been Professor Kruglov, who betrayed Sakharov, stealing his research, and had some nefarious plans. However, a much more serious problem is the disease that rages in the Zone. It originates from a certain "Rift" located in the territory of the "Duty" faction. However, it won't be easy to get there due to the imposed quarantine. The story prepared many troubles for the Marked One: he would have had to go through the "Rift," explore the collective mind, end up in prison, start a revolution in the Zone, free the O-consciousness, and decide the fate of the world.
The main storyline would have taken about ten hours to complete, but with side quests, it would have been all 30. Of course, on the way, one would have encountered terrifying monsters like the Log, which camouflages itself as the environment, the mutated Boar, the dreadful Widow, the Rat Wolf, or the Leshy. The greatest danger traditionally comes not from the monsters but from people: in S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, one could have fought with bandits, military, factions like "Duty" and "Freedom," and many other enemies.
