Warriors Orochi 2 — The game begins with the defeat of Orochi at the end of the first game, a new land consisting of warriors from the Three Kingdoms era of China and the Warring States period of Japan has found peace. However, this was not destined to continue. Former officers of Orochi's army broke away and formed their own armies, while others not affiliated with Orochi also began creating their own armies. All the while, a sinister plot is unfolding behind the scenes to resurrect the greatest evil the world has ever known: Orochi himself.

Like the first game, the game is told through several storylines that are connected to each other. Each story is named after three kingdoms from the Three Kingdoms era in China and one from the Warring States period in Japan. The game adds another story called "Orochi", which is actually a prequel to the first game, told from the perspective of Orochi's army, showing the growth of his power.
