Rockstar co-founder Dan Houser is working on an open-world AAA action game

Absurd Ventures, the studio founded by Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser, is working on a secret AAA project. This was mentioned in a job listing for a lead gameplay designer.

According to the job description, the developers are preparing a third-person action-adventure game with an open world and «multiple game modes.» The future employee is expected to have experience with melee and ranged combat mechanics, as well as non-combat gameplay forms like driving, horseback riding, platforming, and more. Knowledge of UE4 or UE5 will be a plus.

Dan Houser's departure became known back in 2020. The top manager held the position of creative vice president and worked on the scripts for almost all parts of Grand Theft Auto.

Let us remind you that a big-budget sandbox game called Everywhere, from former GTA 5 producer Leslie Benzies, is also currently in development.
