Rumor: PS5 might get backward compatibility with PS3
June 24, 2024, 05:14 AM
According to rumors, Sony is working on implementing backward compatibility with PlayStation 3 on PlayStation 5. This was reported by insider Nick from Melbourne during a recent XboxEra podcast.
Most likely, this feature will be similar to what is available on Xbox Series X/S, where it is possible to play most games from Xbox 360 and Xbox.
Officially, Sony has not yet commented on these rumors, but considering the extensive library of games on the PS3, backward compatibility with this platform on the PS5 would elicit a positive reaction from fans.
Let us remind you that a PlayStation 3 emulator is available on PC, which allows you to play many games. Not long ago, it received an update that improved performance on weaker processors.
