Black Myth: Wukong creators to officially release add-on to the game

Game Science developers intend to expand the popular action game Black Myth: Wukong with additional content to the base game. The studio is already working on DLC for the project, its release date has not yet been disclosed.

Bloomberg interviewed the head of the investment company Hero Games Daniel Wu, who made the largest contribution to the development of the game. According to him, the Chinese studio Game Science suffered four failures in a row before making Black Myth: Wukong, the circulation of which has already reached $18 million copies in just a couple of weeks since its release. The project has brought its creators about $700 million to date, while the development of the action game cost about 10% of this amount.

Daniel Wu confirmed that Game Science is already working on an add-on to Black Myth: Wukong. He did not name an approximate release date, but joked that it «will not take another six years.»

Let us recall that the action game about the Monkey King was released on August 20 on PC and PS5. The game surpassed such popular single-player projects as Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur's Gate 3 and Elden Ring, and its peak online reached 2.4 million simultaneous players.

Earlier, craftsmen released a mod for Black Myth: Wukong, turning Wukong's weapon into a lightsaber from Star Wars. And recently, the project was compared in terms of detail to Demon's Souls Remake.
