Rumor: Assassin's Creed Shadows release postponed due to serious bugs, Splinter Cell remake delayed
Recently, Ubisoft officially announced the postponement of Assassin's Creed: Shadows to 2025, explaining this by the desire to «polish the game». Some insiders supplemented this information, telling about serious problems with the technical condition.
Brazilian YouTuber tvPH, citing his own sources in Ubisoft, named the reason for the postponement of the game as a «complete mess with bugs» and low sales of Star Wars Outlaws. The latter allegedly influenced the decision of the studio's management to take a little more time to finalize Assassin's Creed Shadows, since Ubisoft «doesn't feel safe» amid problems with recent releases.
The insider also claims that the studio is completely confident in all other aspects of Assassin's Creed: Shadows, «minus the bugs.» The game is expected to sell at least 11 million copies. However, Ubisoft itself is in a «depressed mood», and many developers fear a repeat of the series of failures.
Youtuber tvPH also mentioned work on a Splinter Cell remake. According to him, it could have been postponed due to problems with the development and state of the game. Ubisoft also allegedly intended to release a remaster of Splinter Cell: Blacklist back in July of this year.
Recall that the release of Assassin's Creed Shadows has been postponed to February 14, 2025. The game will be released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. However, the project will have to compete with Ghost of Yotei.
