Capcom Plans to Revive Old Game Franchises That Haven't Seen Releases in a Long Time

Recently, Capcom announced the Okami Sequel and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, but it seems the company is also planning to revive other famous franchises. This was revealed on their official website, though details are currently scarce.

In addition to regularly releasing major new titles each year, Capcom is focusing on re-activating dormant IPs that haven’t had a new title launch recently. The company is working to further enhance corporate value by leveraging its rich library of content, which includes reviving past IPs like the two titles announced above, in order to continuously produce highly efficient, high-quality titles.

Many fans are hopeful that the revival of old franchises could include the Dino Crisis series, which was popular during the PS One era.

For instance, this year the company conducted a survey among gamers to find out which franchises they are most eager to see developed further. The most anticipated were Ace Attorney, Dino Crisis, Mega Man, and Resident Evil.
