Resident Evil 4 Remake Becomes Fastest-Selling RE Game
Today, Capcom updated sales data for the Resident Evil 4 Remake. According to the latest information, the game has sold an impressive 9 million copies.
The developers shared this good news on social networks, thanking players with festive art featuring Resident Evil 4 bosses and Ada Wong. Sales data was provided for December 19, 2024:

But according to Alex Aniel, business development manager and author of Itchy, Tasty: An Unofficial History of Resident Evil, Capcom has another reason to be proud. He compared the print runs of Resident Evil 7, RE 3, and Village and found that during the same period, the fourth game, including the remake, became the best-selling game in the series:
Resident Evil 4 (2023) has sold 9 million copies as of December 19, 2024

That would mean RE4 sold at least 1 million copies last quarter (October 1 through December 31), which would be the game's 8th quarter overall.
This makes RE4, by far, the fastest selling RE ever. https://t.co/S7q7afU8aV
As a reminder, Capcom is currently working on Resident Evil 9, which is potentially the most ambitious installment in the franchise. However, the game's release may be delayed, as one insider recently reported.
