New details of the Chinese souls-like Phantom Blade Zero have appeared

The developers of Phantom Blade Zero, which has already been dubbed the «Chinese souls-like», have shared details of the game with various gaming media outlets such as Youmin Starry Sky and UCG. Users of the Chinese Weibo website have combined the information into one large post.

We have highlighted the main details and features of the upcoming action game:

  • The main character will have two important indicators — «days of life» and «levels of enhancement». With each death, the first is reduced, and the enhancements increase by one. Both indicators affect the gameplay, spent days of life can be returned.
  • In case of death in the second phase of the boss, the player is not rolled back to the first, allowing him to continue fighting after resurrection.
  • The game will have about 30 types of primary weapons and 20 types of auxiliary weapons.
  • Bosses can be summoned a second time after defeating them, some secret bosses are summoned only in this mode.
  • The main plot of Phantom Blade Zero is designed for 20-30 hours, and it will take about the same amount of time to complete side missions.
  • The game has several difficulty modes — easy, balanced, hard and very hard.

In an interview with publications, the S-GAME team explained that they have been working on the project only since 2022. For this reason, the release in the second half of 2026, which the developers recently let slip, looks more than logical.

Recall that Phantom Blade Zero was announced in 2023 as a dark action game about an elite assassin. Expelled from his order, he must fight his former comrades who are following in his footsteps. The developers also promise a combat system in the spirit of Devil May Cry. The game will be released on PC and PlayStation 5 — the exact date has not yet been revealed.
