GSC Game World has released a huge patch for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, which is the first major update in 2025. The update fixed dozens of different bugs in gameplay, cutscenes, the A-Life system and NPC behavior, and also made changes to the game balance.

We are ready to present you Patch 1.2. A massive one, with over 1700 improvements and fixes to all aspects of the game: balance, locations, quests, blockers, crashes, performance, more A-Life 2.0 fixes, you name it.

The list of changes turned out to be huge, so we will list the most important ones:
a number of AI errors related to A-Life, shooting accuracy, stealth, mutant behavior in combat and NPC problems such as getting stuck, animation errors and softlocks have been fixed;
the game balance has been improved — fewer shots are now required to kill a pseudo-dog, NPCs in exoskeletons and with high-level equipment are encountered less often, additional merchants have appeared, pistols with silencers have been balanced and the radiation effect of the Weird Water artifact has been reduced;
some engine problems have been fixed;
dozens of edits have been made to story quests, side missions and random encounters;
interactions with objects and the Zone have been improved;
errors related to player equipment, manual and settings have been fixed;
the environment and design of the Zone have been reworked, including the placement of anomalies, visual improvements, caches, changes in terrain and more.
